Mahabad: Ali Daneshi and Samrand Vojoodi Sentenced to Imprisonment on Charge of “Propaganda Against the System”
Two Kurdish citizens named “Ali Daneshi” and “Samrand Vojoodi,” residents of Mahabad, were each sentenced to four months in prison by the First Branch of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court on the charge of “propaganda against the system.”
According to an informed source, this verdict was notified to these two citizens during the past few days.
Following a wedding ceremony in Bukan where guests attended wearing “Khaki Kurdish attire,” and after the arrest of the bride's father in Bukan, early Friday morning, May 9, 2025, “Ali Daneshi” and “Samrand Vojoodi” were also detained in Mahabad through the use of violence and without the presentation of a judicial warrant by security forces.
These two Kurdish citizens were transferred to Mahabad prison after the completion of their interrogation phases and were subsequently released temporarily upon posting bail.
