Dehloran; Arbitrary Detention of 5 Nurses and Medical Staff Charged with Treating the Wounded
January 9, 2026; In the continuation of the wave of arbitrary detentions aimed at imposing an atmosphere of repression and security over society following the popular protests that began in January 2026, five nurses and medical staff from Dehloran, a suburb of Ilam Province, named “Ehsan Ahmadi,” “Hossein Karami,” “Mohammad Moradi,” “Ahmad Khosravi,” and “Ahmadi Zeini,” were detained by a violent raid of security forces on their homes on the charge of “treating the wounded” and were transferred to an unknown location.
According to reports received by Kurdpa, these individuals were personnel of Dehloran Hospital and were violently detained on the midnight of January 8, 2026, without the presentation of a judicial warrant during a raid by security forces on their homes and transferred to an unknown location. Additionally, following inquiries by the families, they were told that the detainees would be transferred to prison in the morning.
However, as of the publication of this report, there is no information regarding the place of custody and fate of these individuals, and the follow-ups by the families have yielded no results, and they have no contact whatsoever with their children.
It should be noted that in Ilam Province, police stations also act as security detention agencies and, after detaining citizens, usually transfer them to the provincial center’s detention centers or the Ilam Central Prison detention center.
