Tabriz Prison: Five Kurdish Prisoners from Urmia and Salmas Secretly Executed as a Group

In the early hours of Sunday, September 6, 2025, five Kurdish prisoners from Urmia and Salmas were secretly executed in Tabriz Central Prison without prior notice to their families or legal counsel, and were denied a final visit with their loved ones.
The identities of the five executed prisoners are as follows:
Babak Omarzadeh, son of Hassan, married with two children, from the village of Gonbad, Somay-e Baradost district, Urmia
Tofiq Ne’mati, son of Sediq, from the village of Bardizi, Somay-e Baradost district, Urmia
Houshang Henareh, from the village of Khalyan, Somay-e Baradost district, Urmia
Najib Azarm, son of Ali, from the village of Kalankani, Targavar district, Urmia
Keywan Mamadi, son of Pashi, from the village of Derik, Salmas
These prisoners had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and were sentenced to death. After spending several years in prison, they were executed in secret.
As of now, no official announcement of these executions has appeared in state-affiliated media.
