Saqqez: Hiwa Amini and Bahman Feyzi Sentenced to Prison

Hiwa Amini and Bahman Feyzi, two residents of Saqqez, were each sentenced to 10 months in prison by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Saqqez, presided over by Judge Mojtaba Ghaffari, on the charge of “propaganda against the state.”
According to an informed source, the court suspended five months of the sentence for two years and converted the remaining five months into a fine of 10 million tomans.
The source added that this verdict was delivered to them in recent days; Hiwa Amini accepted the ruling, while Bahman Feyzi filed an appeal against the preliminary court’s decision.
On February 28, 2025, Hiwa Amini and Bahman Feyzi were temporarily released from Saqqez Prison until the completion of judicial proceedings after posting bail.
During their detention, the two Kurdish citizens were denied access to legal counsel and family visits.
They were first transferred for interrogation to the Shahramfar Detention Center in Sanandaj and, after the completion of questioning, moved to Saqqez Prison.
On January 29, 2025, the two Kurdish citizens were arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant.
