Marivan – Arbitrary Arrest and Continued Incommunicado Detention of Rafigh Mostafaei After One Week

As of August 6, 2025, one week has passed since the arbitrary arrest of Rafigh Mostafaei, a 42-year-old Kurdish citizen from Marivan, with no information available about his fate or whereabouts.

According to a source informed by Kurdpa, on Friday, August 1, 2025, security forces from the Marivan Intelligence Office raided Mostafaei’s workplace — a brick-making workshop in Marivan — without presenting a judicial warrant and arrested him. Mostafaei, originally from the village of Mosk and residing in Marivan, was working at the time of his arrest and was taken to an undisclosed location.

As of the time of this report, he has been denied the right to contact or meet with his family, as well as access to a lawyer. His family’s inquiries have gone unanswered, and the security agencies have refused to provide any explanation.

The reason for this Kurdish citizen’s arrest remains unknown.
