Barzan Salehi, Kurdish Kolbar from Baneh, Killed by Government Forces’ Gunfire

In the early hours of Saturday, July 26, 2025, Barzan Salehi, a Kurdish kolbar (cross-border porter) from Baneh, was shot and killed by government forces near the Siranband border crossing in Baneh County.
According to an informed source, government forces opened direct fire on Mr. Salehi without prior warning.
The source added that Mr. Salehi’s body was transferred to Salahuddin Ayoubi Hospital in Baneh.
Mr. Salehi, aged 38, was married and the father of four children.
In a related incident, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, another kolbar, Amin Gerdi from Kani Tamarkhan village in the Marivan region, was shot and killed by government forces in the Tehteh highlands of the Hawraman area, Sarvabad County.
