Two Kolbars Killed and Injured by Government Forces’ Gunfire in Sarvabad and Marivan

On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, a kolbar (cross-border porter) identified as Amin Gerdi, from Kani Tamarkhan village in the Marivan region, was shot and killed by government forces in the Tehteh highlands of the Hawraman area, Sarvabad County.
According to an informed source, government forces opened direct fire on the kolbar without prior warning.
Mr. Gerdi, aged 40, was married and the father of one child.
Additionally, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, another kolbar, Rasoul Fathi from Marivan, was injured by gunfire from government forces in the border regions of Marivan.
The injured kolbar was transferred to a hospital in Marivan for medical treatment.
