Hamedan: Mamosta Loqman Amini Released on Bail

On Monday, June 2, 2025, Mamosta Loqman Amini, Friday prayer leader of the Chehar Yaran Nabi Grand Mosque in Sanandaj, was released from Hamedan Prison after posting bail.

According to an informed source, this Kurdish cleric was denied access to legal counsel during his detention.

On Monday, April 21, 2025, he was arrested after appearing at the Special Clerical Court in Hamedan on charges of blasphemy and was transferred to Hamedan Prison under a temporary detention order.

Back in June 2023, Mamosta Loqman Amini had been sentenced to 11 years of discretionary imprisonment, two years of exile in Ardabil, permanent defrocking, and a ban on delivering Friday sermons, on charges including:

Propaganda against the regime in favor of a Kurdish opposition party,

Possession of a handgun,

Incitement to unrest and chaos,

Support for the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” (Woman, Life, Freedom) uprising.

Earlier, on Monday, January 30, 2023, Amini had been arrested by security forces on the Marivan road, without a judicial warrant, due to his public support for the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi protests. He was temporarily released on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, after posting bail pending further legal proceedings.
