Sanandaj – Mamousta Barzan Maleki, after being temporarily released, has once again been summoned to the Special Court for the Clergy in Hamedan

Mamousta Barzan Maleki, the imam and preacher of the Sheikhin Grand Mosque in Sanandaj and a Kurdish cleric, was once again summoned to the Special Court for the Clergy in Hamedan after being temporarily released on a 1 billion toman bail.

This Kurdish cleric has been summoned to the Special Court for the Clergy in Hamedan on Tuesday, June 11, 2025, to present his final defense.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Mamousta Barzan Maleki was released from Hamedan prison after posting a 1 billion toman bail.

On Monday, May 26, 2025, he had been summoned to the Special Court for the Clergy in Hamedan, and was detained after appearing in court.

Additionally, on Sunday, May 25, 2025, this Kurdish cleric was summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office and was interrogated for two hours.

Previously, on Monday, January 29, 2025, security forces 20 kilometers from Sanandaj en route to Dehgolan arrested Mamousta Barzan Maleki—imam and preacher of the Sheikhin Mosque in Sanandaj—along with several of his students, preventing them from traveling to Zahedan, where they had been officially invited by Makki Mosque.
