Eslamabad-e Gharb: Truck Driver and Blogger Shahab Darabi Arrested for Supporting Strikes

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Shahab Darabi, a truck driver and blogger from Eslamabad-e Gharb, known online as "Yooz-e Asia" (The Cheetah of Asia), was arrested by plainclothes security forces and taken to an undisclosed location. His arrest came in response to his participation in the truck drivers' strikes and his public support for the protests on Instagram.

According to informed sources, Darabi was detained during a raid on his home, and over the past two days, two of his Instagram accounts were taken down by authorities.

This is not the first time Darabi has faced arrest. On February 28, 2025, he was detained without a court order after publishing a post criticizing Iran’s elections on social media. At that time as well, his Instagram account was removed shortly after his arrest.
