Mamusta Barzan Maleki Arrested After Appearing Before Special Court for the Clergy in Hamedan

On Monday, May 26, 2025, Mamusta Barzan Maleki, the Friday prayer leader and teacher at the Sheikhin Grand Mosque in Sanandaj, was arrested following his summons and appearance before the Special Court for the Clergy in Hamedan.
This development comes a day after Sunday, May 25, 2025, when the Kurdish cleric was summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office, where he was interrogated for two hours.
Previously, on Monday, January 29, 2025, security forces intercepted and detained Mamusta Maleki and several of his students near Dehgolan, approximately 20 kilometers outside Sanandaj. The group was en route to Zahedan at the official invitation of Makki Mosque, but the trip was blocked by security forces.
