Sanandaj: Mamusta Barzan Maleki Summoned to the Special Court for the Clergy in Hamedan

Mamusta Barzan Maleki, the Friday prayer leader and teacher at Sheikhin Grand Mosque in Sanandaj, has been summoned to appear before the Special Court for the Clergy in Hamedan.

This Kurdish cleric is required to appear in court on Tuesday, May 26, 2025, to present his defense.

Additionally, on Sunday, May 25, 2025, Mamusta Barzan Maleki was summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office, where he was interrogated for two hours.

Earlier, on Monday, January 29, 2025, security forces intercepted Mamusta Maleki and several of his students near Dehgolan, 20 kilometers outside Sanandaj, preventing them from traveling to Zahedan for an event at Makki Mosque, to which they had been officially invited. He was also briefly detained at that time.
