Mahabad: Continued Detention and Uncertainty Surrounding the Fate of Samrand Vojoudi, 14 Days After His Arbitrary Arrest

Despite two weeks having passed since the arrest of Samrand Vojoudi, a resident of Mahabad, there remains no clear information about his fate.
According to a reliable source, this Kurdish citizen was transferred to the Urmia Intelligence Detention Center for interrogation and has so far been allowed only one phone call with his family.
The same source added that during his detention, Samrand Vojoudi has been denied access to a lawyer and visitation rights with his family.
Following a wedding ceremony in Bukan, where guests wore traditional Kurdish khaki clothing, and the arrest of the bride’s father in Bukan, two other citizens, Ali Daneshi and Samrand Vojoudi, were also forcibly arrested without a judicial warrant in Mahabad on the morning of Friday, May 9, 2025, by security forces.
In the aftermath, dozens of local residents received threatening calls urging them to report to the Intelligence Office. Furthermore, during a night raid on the homes of Kaveh and Loghman Salek, all their Kurdish clothing, mobile phones, and personal identification and banking documents were confiscated.
