Repeated Summoning of Mamousta Ayat Gholami to the Special Clerical Court in Kermanshah

On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Mamousta Ayat Gholami — a Sunni cleric and former imam of the Mohammad al-Mostafa Mosque in Kermanshah, and a teacher at a religious seminary — was once again summoned to the Special Court for the Clergy in Kermanshah following his temporary release on bail.
On Saturday, April 26, 2025, Mamousta Ayat Gholami was temporarily released from detention after posting bail of 700 million tomans, pending the conclusion of legal proceedings. During his detention, the Kurdish cleric was denied access to legal representation.
Previously, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, after being summoned and appearing before the Kermanshah branch of the Special Court for the Clergy, he was arrested for defending Sunni beliefs and voicing support for imprisoned clerics.
Earlier, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, this Kurdish cleric was prohibited from leading prayers and participating in mosque activities by order of the security division of the Kermanshah Center for Clergy, following a summons to that institution.
Mamousta Gholami, a Sunni cleric, has previously been summoned by security agencies on multiple occasions due to:
His refusal to support state-sponsored elections,
Signing statements condemning the execution of Mamousta Mohammad Khazirnejad,
Objecting to the arrest and restriction of fellow clerics,
Protesting the killing of kolbars (cross-border porters) and fuel carriers,
Criticizing government officials,
And organizing religious ceremonies based on Sunni traditions.
