Marivan: Arbitrary Arrest of Mohammad Houshmand by IRGC Intelligence and Transfer to Shahramfar Detention Center

On Friday, May 17, 2025, Mohammad Houshmand, a Kurdish citizen from the village of Daratfi, located in the Marivan region, was violently arrested by IRGC Intelligence forces during a raid on his home and transferred to the Shahramfar Detention Center in Sanandaj.

According to a knowledgeable source who spoke to Kurdpa, agents from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization raided Mohammad Houshmand’s home on Friday with three vehicles. They arrested him violently and without presenting a judicial warrant, and transferred him to the Shahramfar Detention Center in Sanandaj.

Four days have passed since Mohammad Houshmand’s arbitrary arrest, and no information is available about his fate. He has been denied the right to contact or meet with his family and has no access to legal representation.

To date, the reasons for Mohammad Houshmand’s arrest and the charges against him remain unknown.

Mohammad Houshmand previously served as the village head (dehyar) of Daratfi, in the Marivan area. He has been summoned and interrogated by security agencies on multiple occasions in the past.
