Continued Detention and Legal Uncertainty of Hassan Ahmadi in Maku Prison

Despite the passage of 20 days since his arrest, Hassan Ahmadi, also known as Hassan Renas, a Kurdish artist from Maku, remains in detention without clear legal status in the city's prison.

According to a reliable source, Ahmadi has so far been denied access to a lawyer, phone calls, and family visits.

The source added that each day, Mr. Ahmadi is transferred to the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center for interrogation, and at night, he is returned to Maku Prison.

On the morning of Sunday, April 27, 2025, security forces raided the artist’s home without presenting a judicial warrant and arrested him.

During the arrest, security agents searched his residence.

Hassan Ahmadi is an active member of Maku’s cultural and artistic community.

As of now, no clear information has been released regarding the reason for his arrest or the charges against him.
