Hamedan: Mamosta Saber Khodamoradi Sentenced to 22 Months in Prison

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Mamosta Saber Khodamoradi, the Friday prayer leader of Qavaq District in Saqqez County, was sentenced to 22 months in prison after appearing before the Special Clerical Court in Hamedan.
The Kurdish cleric had recently received a summons to appear at the Special Clerical Court in Hamedan. Following the issuance of the verdict, he began returning to Saqqez, and has 20 days to appeal the sentence.
In September 2024, Mamosta Khodamoradi had previously been sentenced to 15 months in prison by the same court, following a phone summons, on charges of “propaganda against the state.”
Earlier, in July 2023, he was also summoned by the Special Clerical Court.
On Sunday, April 30, 2023, he was sentenced to 7.5 months of suspended imprisonment and 74 suspended lashes, valid for a period of three years, on charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “disturbing public opinion.”
Previously, on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, this cleric was summoned for the third time to the Special Clerical Court due to his support for the “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising, which he had expressed during Friday sermons.
