September 13, 2026; Forty-one days after the arbitrary arrest of "Bahman Modirzadeh," a Kurdish citizen from Qotur (Kotol) and a local city council member who published an Instagram story opposing the death penalty, he remains in legal limbo in Khoy Prison following interrogation at a security detention center.

An informed source confirmed the news to Kurdpa, stating that despite repeated inquiries by his family following his arrest, Bahman Modirzadeh is being held in Khoy Prison without official resolution, having been denied access to legal counsel and family visits throughout his interrogation in security facilities. He was granted phone call privileges only after his transfer to Khoy Prison.

"Bahman Modirzadeh," 39, a resident of Qotur in Urmia county and a member of the Qotur City Council, was arbitrarily arrested on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, without a judicial warrant by IRGC Intelligence personnel in Khoy and transferred to an undisclosed location.

The source attributed his arrest to an Instagram story he published opposing the death penalty. Nevertheless, security authorities have provided no official justification for his detention, and he was completely denied access to a lawyer, family visitation, and phone contact during his arbitrary detention in the security facility.
