Today, Saturday, September 12, 2026; "Abed Alizadeh," a young Kurdish media activist from Takab, was temporarily released on a 2-billion-toman bail after 25 days of arbitrary detention. He spent 13 days in security detention centers and 12 days in Miandoab Prison. Initially unable to afford the bail, he was ultimately released temporarily from Miandoab Prison after a relative posted the required amount.

An informed source confirmed the news to Kurdpa, stating that on Monday, August 31, 2026, Abed Alizadeh was transferred to Ward 3 of Miandoab Prison following 13 days of arbitrary detention in an IRGC security detention center in Urmia, where he was subjected to physical torture and harassment. Authorities initially set his temporary release bail at 4 billion tomans.

Kurdpa previously reported that on Wednesday evening, August 19, 2026, security forces arbitrarily arrested Abed Alizadeh and transferred him to an undisclosed location. On social media, the Kurdish activist engaged in public advocacy regarding social issues, supporting popular protests against high living costs, opposing the vilification of protestors, advocating for victims of the January protests, and promoting Kurdish language and culture.

Throughout his detention in the security facility, the media activist was denied access to legal counsel, family visits, and phone contact with his family.
