Abdanan; Fatemeh Sheikhi was sentenced to one year of correctional imprisonment

Fatemeh Sheikhi, a citizen of Abdanan, was sentenced to one year of correctional imprisonment by Branch 101 of the Criminal Court Two of this city, headed by Judge "Mohammad Gholami".

According to the verdict, Ms. Sheikhi was convicted of "insulting the sanctities of Islam" with reference to Article 18 of the Islamic Penal Code section on correctional punishments and Article 2 of the Law on Reducing Correctional Imprisonment Punishments regarding Article 18 of the Islamic Penal Code.

The court, with reference to Articles 40, 46, 47, 48, 49, 52, and 54 of the Islamic Penal Code section on generalities, issued and announced a simple suspension of the imprisonment of this citizen for a period of two years.

The hearing on the charges against Fatemeh Sheikhi was held on February 6, 2024 in Branch 101 of the Criminal Court Two of Abadan and was notified to her on February 11, 2024.

On August 23, 2023, this young Kurdish girl was summoned to the second branch of the prosecutor's office of the judiciary of Abdanan and was released on bail after being informed of the charges.
