The Supreme Court of Iran rejected the request for the retrial of Reza Rasaei, a political prisoner sentenced to death and one of the detainees of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi.
According to an informed source, Branch One of the Supreme Court of Iran declared the request for a retrial of the lawyers of this political prisoner sentenced to death as "lacking legal conditions".
On January 1, 2024, the case of Reza Rasaei, a political prisoner sentenced to death and one of the detainees of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi who is serving his sentence in Dizel Abad Prison in Kermanshah, was referred to the Criminal Court of Kermanshah for execution.
A copy of the verdict confirming the death sentence of this political prisoner in Branch 17 of the Supreme Court of Iran was obtained by Kurdpa, which confirmed his death sentence on December 16, 2023, by rejecting the defenses of Mr. Rasaei and the opinion of the forensic doctor of Sahneh County.
The verdict of the Supreme Court of Iran states that the execution of this political prisoner is subject to the approval of the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
