Sanandaj; Hunger strike of a detained citizen in detention

Since Wednesday, December 26, a Kurdish citizen named "Mohammad Jafar Mohammadi" 55 years old, son of Tawfiq, from Sanandaj, has gone on hunger strike in protest of his detention and uncertainty in detention.

According to an informed source, this citizen is being held in the Sanandaj Intelligence and Security Police Detention Center and has been deprived of access to a lawyer and meeting with his family so far.

On December 25, security forces raided the home of this citizen in the "Haji Abad" neighborhood of Sanandaj without presenting a judicial order and arrested him with violence.

According to a document obtained by Kurdpa, the arrest of Mohammad Jafar Mohammadi took place after he filed a complaint against the law enforcement personnel of Sanandaj for assault and illegal detention in the military court of Kurdistan province.

On March 7, 2023, Morteza Mohammadi and Sirvan Mohammadi, sons of Mohammad Jafar and among the detainees of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi, were released from Sanandaj prison by depositing bail.
