The continued detention of Vrisheh Moradi, a Kurdish women's activist in ward 209 of Evin prison

Vrisheh Moradi (Jwana Sineh), a Kurdish women's activist who was arrested by security forces near Sanandaj on July 31, 2023, is still being held in ward 209 of Evin prison.

According to an informed source, this Kurdish women's activist has been deprived of access to a lawyer so far and has only met with her family once.

The informed source added: that Ms. Moradi was transferred to the Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center after being arrested and after two weeks of interrogation for making forced confessions, she was transferred to ward 209 of Evin prison in late August of this year.

Vrisheh Moradi was a member of the Free Women's Society of Eastern Kurdistan and this women's organization stated on September 25, addressed the public opinion, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran and international human rights organizations, stating that Vrisheh Moradi was present in Kurdistan for "carrying out political and women's organizing activities".

The Free Women's Society of Eastern Kurdistan emphasized: "Considering the enforced disappearance of our comrade Jwana Sineh by the forces of the Revolutionary Guards and the Ministry of Intelligence, we hold the Islamic Republic of Iran responsible for her life."

Also, this women's organization asked the public opinion, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran, and human rights organizations to take the necessary actions regarding the disappearance of Vrisheh Moradi and the "scenario-making of the security agencies" against her.
