September 5, 2026; On Saturday, September 5, 2026, Pari Samani and Roya Samani, two Kurdish sisters from Mahabad, were formally charged with "propaganda against the system" following their summons to Branch 1 of the Interrogation Unit of the Revolutionary Court in this municipality.

According to an informed source speaking to Kurdpa, the basis for this charge was stated to be an allegation by IRGC Intelligence forces in Mahabad regarding the two sisters' membership in a Telegram group last year. However, security forces failed to provide any documentation or evidence to substantiate this claim.

On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, security forces from IRGC Intelligence raided the family home of the two Kurdish sisters in Mahabad. Following a search of the residence, they confiscated and carried away their electronic devices.

Security forces seized the mobile phone and laptop belonging to Roya Samani, as well as the mobile phone belonging to Pari Samani, without providing a judicial warrant.

Following the security forces' raid and the confiscation of their electronic equipment, the two sisters were summoned to the IRGC Intelligence Department in Mahabad and subjected to interrogation.
