Mamosta Ibrahim Salimi was sentenced to three years in prison
Mamosta Ibrahim Salimi, the Imam of the "Chaharyar-e Nabi" mosque in Piranshahr, was sentenced to three years in prison by the Special Court of Clergy in Urmia.
According to an informed source, the court accused this Kurdish cleric of "acting against national security, disturbing public opinion and signing a statement by the Kurdish Mamustas in support of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" and this verdict was delivered to him in recent days.
On March 1, 2023, Mamosta Ibrahim Salimi was temporarily released from Urmia prison until the end of the trial by posting a bail of 500 million tomans.
This Kurdish cleric was transferred to the prison of this city after completing the interrogation stages from the detention center of the Urmia Intelligence Department and was deprived of access to a lawyer and meeting with his family during his detention.
On January 31, 2023, Mamosta Ibrahim Salimi was summoned and arrested by the Piranshahr Intelligence Department for supporting the protests of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi and then transferred to the Urmia Intelligence Department detention center for interrogation.
