The city of Bokan: A Narrative of the Shooting of 37 Bullets at Hiwa Zahraian and the Bullets Still Lodged in His Body
Kurdpa, known for exclusively covering the stories of the deceased and wounded during the revolutionary uprisings of Jin, Jian, Azadi in Kurdistan, has now brought to light the story of a 43-year-old citizen named "Hiwa Zahraian" from Saqqez, a resident of the city of Bokan, who, along with his 10-year-old daughter, was wounded during the protests in Bokan.
After the burial of jina Amini in her hometown of Saqqez and the commencement of public protests against her government-related murder, the people of Bokan also joined the protests on September 19, 2022, in support of the revolutionary uprisings of Jin, Jian, Azadi, and other cities in Kurdistan. However, from the very outset, the repressive forces opened fire in an attempt to quell and disperse the protestors. Hiwa Zahraian and his 10-year-old daughter, Dina, were among those injured on that fateful day, falling victim to the indiscriminate gunfire of the repressive government forces.
According to a reliable source in Kurdpa, at nearly six o'clock in the evening on September 19, 2022, when Dina's father, after offering prayers in one of Bokan's mosques, was passing through Farmandari Square in the city, they were both struck by bullets fired by the repressive government forces. As a result, Hiwa Zahraian and his daughter, Dina Zahraian, sustained injuries.
Due to the reckless firing by the repressive forces, Hiwa Zahraian suffered injuries from 37 bullets, which struck areas such as his "bladder, kidney, liver, back, and neck," leaving him in critical condition.
Previously, Kurdpa had reported on the shooting of 15 bullets into Dina Zahraian, the 10-year-old daughter of Hiwa Zahraian. Both Hiwa Zahraian and his daughter were subsequently taken to "Qulipur" hospital in Bokan, with 36 bullets still remaining in his body.
After targeting Dina and her father with bullets, the repressive government forces left them unattended in Farmandari Square in Bokan. Concerned citizens took it upon themselves to transport this father and daughter to "Qulipur" hospital in Bokan. According to a well-informed source in Kurdpa, Mr. Zahraian had been hit by 37 bullets, and to date, only one bullet has been removed from his body, leaving 36 bullets still lodged within him. His injuries encompass the areas of "bladder, kidney, liver, back vertebrae, neck, arm, and hand," with no surgeries performed as of yet.
Kurdpa's informed source has disclosed information regarding the delivery of Hiwa Zahraian's medical file. Up until now, the medical file has not been handed over to him. Doctors at Bokan Hospital have conveyed verbally to Mr. Zahraian that the bullets remain lodged in his lung, kidney, bladder, and liver. Additionally, one of the bullets has penetrated the sternum area of his chest and remains embedded there.
Four days following the shooting incident and one day after his daughter, Dina, was transferred to "Omid" hospital in Urmia, Hiwa Zahraian was moved from "Qulipur" hospital in Bokan to the aforementioned hospital.
The report sheet prepared against Hiwa Zahraian's will and the pressure on him to refrain from informing others are concerning issues. According to an informed source from Kurdpa, there are police and judicial personnel present in hospitals in Iran and Kurdistan to handle complaints related to accidents and incidents. One of these officers visited Mr. Zahraian at "Qulipur" hospital in Bokan. Based on a document in Kurdpa's possession, they drafted a report to the prosecutor's office and had Mr. Zahraian sign it.
In the report written by the police, it is stated that Mr. Zahraian and his daughter Dina were injured by "unknown individuals" with "hunting bullets" and "metal bullets," and he is listed as a "complainant" who "demands prosecution." However, Mr. Zahraian denies making this complaint.
Furthermore, intelligence forces exerted pressure on Mr. Zahraian to prevent him from sharing information about his and his child's injuries.
