Mullah Loghman Amini and Mullah Ebrahim Karimi Nanaleh sentenced to imprisonment, exile, and permanent removal of clerical attire
Mullah Loghman Amini, the Imam leader of Jameh Mosque in Chahar Yaranabi, Sanandaj, and Mullah Ebrahim Karimi Nanaleh, the Imam leader of Jameh Mosque in the village of Nanaleh, Sanandaj, have been sentenced to 23 years of imprisonment, exile, and permanent removal of clerical attire by the Special Court for Clergy in Hamedan.
According to the issued verdict, Mullah Loghman Amini has been sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment, two years of exile in Ardabil, and permanent removal of clerical attire, along with a prohibition from delivering Imam sermons. Similarly, Mullah Ebrahim Karimi Nanaleh has been sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment, two years of exile in Bushehr, and permanent removal of clerical attire, along with a prohibition from delivering Imam sermons.
The Special Court for Clergy in Hamedan has accused these two Kurdish clerics of "propagating against the system in favor of one of the Kurdish opposition parties in Iran, possessing a concealed weapon, inciting riots and unrest, and supporting people and revolutionary protests related to women, life, freedom."
On Wednesday, June 7th, the trial session for the charges against these two Kurdish clerics was held in the Special Court for Clergy in Hamedan.
On Monday, January 30, 2023, without a judicial warrant, Mullah Loghman Amini and Mullah Ebrahim Karimi Nanaleh were arrested by the security forces on the Marivan road due to their support for women, life, freedom. On Wednesday, Febrauary 22nd, they were temporarily released upon the deposit of bail until the end of the judicial proceedings.
After the arrest of Mullah Ebrahim Karimi Nanaleh, the Sanandaj Intelligence Office, by recording and releasing a video of this Kurdish cleric, forced him to request forgiveness from clerics affiliated with the government.
