Mullah Zana Khoshaman Sentenced to Two Years and One Month of Imprisonment
Mullah Zana Khoshaman, a resident of Shinabad, Piranshahr and an ethnic Kurdish cleric, has been sentenced to two years and one month of imprisonment by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court in Mahabad under the presidency of Judge "Amir Ojaqlo" on charges of "acting against national security through membership in one of Iran's opposition Kurdish parties."
The verdict was officially communicated to Mullah Zana on Thursday, June 15th.
On Thursday, October 20, 2022, Mullah Zana Khoshaman and his wife Senour Ghaderi were arrested by security forces. Mullah Zana was transferred for interrogation to a detention center in Urmia while his wife was released after two days.
During his detention period, this Kurdish cleric did not have access to designated lawyer or visitation with his family.
After completing the interrogation process, he was transferred to Naqadeh Prison where he posted bail temporarily before being released.
Previously, Mullah Zana had served as Imam at several villages such as Yunus Lian village , Kahanah Qala village- Naghadeh County , Shakh Tan Village.
He also worked as a teacher at Salah al-Din Ayyubi Religious School in Piranshahr for several years.
