Piranshahr: Former Political Prisoner Bapir Barzeh Sentenced to One Year of Correctional Imprisonment
Bapir Barzeh, a former political prisoner from the village of "Chiyaneh" in Piranshahr, has been sentenced to one year of correctional imprisonment by Branch 102 of the Criminal Court of this city.
Branch 102 of the Piranshahr Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Reza Ghahramani Saatlu, has accused this citizen of "disrupting public order and tranquility through participation in riots, sabotage, and disturbances in line with the objectives of anti-establishment groups against national security."
The court issued this verdict on May 2nd.
On Thursday, January 26, 2023, Bapir Barzeh was released from Naghdeh Prison on temporary bail until the end of the legal proceedings.
This Kurdish citizen was transferred to one of the security detention centers in Urmia for interrogation on November 22, 2022, at Sare-Poshoo intersection without presenting a judicial order by security forces.
During the period of detention, this political prisoner has been deprived of access to a lawyer and family visits.
Bapir Barzeh had previously been conditionally released from Naghdeh Prison on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.
