Bahar Zangiband, a women's rights activist and a physical education lecturer at the Islamic Azad University in Sanandaj, has been deprived of teaching at this university.

According to an informed source who spoke to Kurdpa, despite an inquiry from the Ministry of Intelligence to return to work, the security forces of the Islamic Azad University in Sanandaj did not allow her to teach due to her objection to the government's murder of Mahsa-Jina Amini and her arrest.

This women's rights activist from Sanandaj was arrested on Monday, September 19, 2022, after protesting the government's murder of Mahsa-Jina Amini in the courtyard of the Islamic Azad University in Sanandaj without a judicial order by the security forces.

After the arrest of Ms. Zangiband, the security forces searched her home and confiscated her mobile phone, laptop, and some of her personal belongings.

This Kurdish activist was transferred to the Sanandaj Intelligence Detention Center daily for interrogation and was transferred to the Sanandaj Rehabilitation and Education Center at night.

Bahar Zangiband has been accused of "disturbing public order" and "propagating against the system" by the Sanandaj Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office for participating in protest rallies against the manner of Mahsa-Jina Amini's death and issuing a statement condemning the actions of the special guard and anti-riot forces.

On October 8, 2022, this women's rights activist was temporarily released from the Sanandaj Rehabilitation and Education Center until the end of the trial stages by posting bail.
