Khabat Fadaei, a Kurdish singer, was sentenced to six years in prison

Khabat Fadaei, a Kurdish singer from the village of "Buridar" in Sarvabad city, living in Tehran, was sentenced to six years in prison by the first branch of the revolution court of Varamin city, presided over by judge "Ashkan Ramesh".

 This singer was sentenced to one year in prison on the charge of "propaganda against the regime" and five years in prison on the charge of "membership in a group and crowd with the aim of disrupting the security of the country", which is the only severe punishment.

 The court has issued this sentence for this Kurdish singer, referring to articles 134 and 215 of the Islamic Penal Code approved in 1392 and articles 498, 499 and 500 of the Penal Code approved in 1996.

 The decision of the primary court against Mr. Fadaei was issued in person on February 19, 2023 and can be appealed in the appeal courts of Tehran province within twenty days after notification.

 On Monday, November 14, 2023, Khabat Fadaei was temporarily released from Evin prison by posting bail until the end of the proceedings.

 This singer has been denied access to a lawyer and meeting with his family during his detention.
