Masoud Kurdpour, the editor of Mukrian news agency, was sentenced to 17 months in prison

Masoud Kurdpour, the editor of Mukrian News Agency, was sentenced to 17 months in prison by the Bokan Revolutionary Court, in which 9 months are enforceable.

 This journalist and human rights activist has been sentenced to 9 months in prison by the Bokan Revolutionary Court for "propaganda against the regime" and 8 months in prison for "disturbing public order".

 The court hearing on Mr. Kurdpour's charges was held in December this year in the first branch of Bokan Revolution Court in the form of video conference.

 According to the Consolidation of Sentences Law, the severest punishment for Masoud Kurdpour is 9 months imprisonment.

 Masoud Kurdpour was arrested by the security forces at his home on Saturday, September 20, 2022 and he was taken to the detention center of Urmia Intelligence Department for interrogation.

 After completing the interrogation process, he was transferred to Miandoab prison and is currently in Bokan prison.

 Masoud Kurdpour was arrested several times by the security forces and sentenced to prison.
