Ilam; Ayat Arefinia was sentenced to imprisonment and additional punishments
Ayat Arefinia, a law student and director of the "Abdanan Dar Gozare Zaman" channel, was sentenced to six years, seven months and 15 days in prison and banned from leaving the country by the first branch of the Ilam Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Rajab Mohammadi.
This civil activist has been sentenced to six years of imprisonment (of which three years are suspended) on charges of "forming groups with the aim of disrupting the security of the country" and to seven months and 15 days on charges "activity and propaganda against the regime (through the establishment of a Telegram channel)"
Following this ruling, his passport was confiscated and he was banned from leaving the country for two years.
This ruling was issued on December 23rd and forty days after its issuance, it was communicated to Mr. Arefinia.
On Tuesday, January 31st, Ayat Arifinia announced the verdict of the primary court to his family during a phone call.
Ayat Arefinia from Abdanan was arrested by the security forces on Monday October 31st and he is in the central detention center of Ilam, and so far the court has not agreed to his temporary release on bail.
This civil activist has been denied access to any lawyer and meeting with his family during his detention.
