Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa): In a parliamentary session, Urmia Representative accused the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) of providing the Iranian, Kurdish opposition political parties with “Saudi Arabia’s money and American weapons”.
On September 2 in an open session of Iranian parliament, Nader Qazipor, an Urmia representative, accused the KRG of “counter-security acts against the Islamic Republic of Iran” and said: “the Kurdistan Regional Government provides the anti-revolutionary groups particularly the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan which is close to Barzani with Saudi Arabia’s money and American weapons and supports them against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The KRG officials have visited Saudi Arabia, the United States and the Zionist regime (Israel) and tried to win their support for these anti-revolutionary groups”.
He claimed that “only after someone is given a confirmation official letter by one of these anti-revolutionary groups, will they be granted the KRG’s residential documents. The KRG has been a sanctuary for these terrorist groups; some of their officials have supported establishing new headquarters for these groups. The KRG top officials do not care about Iran’s security.”
Speaking in a parliamentary session specified to impeach Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian Foreign Minister, Qazipour said: “Mr. Zarif, I want you to firmly stand against the KRG’s conspiracies”.
As the Iranian Kurdish opposition groups intensified their activities in 2016, Iranian top officials began to threaten the KRG.
The Islamic Republic of Iran calls the Kurdish opposition groups as “anti-revolutionary” and “terrorist’ and Israel as “Zionist regime”.
