The death of pregnant mother led to a public protest

Kurdpa agency: Marivan citizens held a rally to protest repeated medical errors in Kurdistan.

According to Kurdpa News agency last week, dozens of angry citizens in front of the office belong to one of Bu Ali Hospital personnel in Marivan held a protest. Protesters were demanding put an end to medical malpractice in Kurdistan province in Iran. They were also demanding that an official to address the incident, which led to death of a pregnant young woman in Marivan.

Protesters were carrying banners and placards, which were indicating concerned pregnant women on one hand and health authorities negligence on the other hand.

Kurdpa agency states that identity of the woman who died less than 24 hours after cesarean procedure is 31 years Sohayla Amini.

Further to this report, a gynecologist named M, A in Bu Ali hospital had performed a cesarean procedure on this victim carelessly. He also refused to re-examine the patient\'s condition. The patient finally died due to severe internal bleeding and reducing blood pressure.

Ministry of health in Sanandaj reacted to this incident and announced that this medical incident would be investigated and investigation report would be released soon.

The exact deaths rates due to medical errors, is not available in Iran, but some experts believe that the shortage of manpower, tiredness, excessive workload, Insufficient awareness are among the most common causes of medical errors in Iran.
