Severely ill Kaboudvand was transferred to Evin Prison’s infirmary

Kurdpa: Muhammad Sedigh Kaboudvand, journalist and human rights activist was transferred to Evin Prison’s medical center due to his deteriorating health conditions.
The imprisoned head of Kurdistan Human Rights Organization was sent to the prison infirmary on June 4th to treat his low blood pressure and other health problems.
Kaboudvand has suffered from prostate cancer, and despite his poor health he has been under tremendous stress from prison officials, ‘Kalemeh’ website reported.
Mohammad Sedigh Kaboudvand, had gone on hunger strike in Evin prison on May 27th, for the second time, in protest to the refusal by prison authorities to grant him prison furlough to see his ailing son.
In an earlier exclusive interview with Kurdpa, Kaboudvand’s wife, Parinaz Hasani had stated, “When Mohammad Sedigh Kaboudvand went on hunger strike on May 14th, 4 days following his huger strike, he was asked by Tehran deputy prosecutor to end his hunger strike and they would meet his demands. Kaboudvand had agreed to end his hunger strike on May 18th despite previous broken promises by the officials: I will suspend my hunger strike for one week, hoping officials will hear my demands and respond to them.\" Hasani added quoting her husband.
According to reports, Kaboudvand’s health is very poor and he has reportedly suffered two heart attacks in prison.
Kaboudvand is sentenced to a total of eleven years in prison.
