Saqez; Two citizens were detained by security forces
On Saturday, January 29th, two Kurdish citizens, Zamaneh Ziviyeh and Meqdad (Kardoukh) Hassannejad, from Saqez, were detained by security forces and taken to an unknown location.
Security forces detained these two citizens without issuing any court order.
So far, the efforts of the families of these two citizens to find out about their fate have been fruitless.
Zamaneh Zivieh is a law graduate of Saqez Payame Noor University and was arrested by security forces in 2017 on charges of "participating in rallies in support of the Kurdish independence referendum."
Zamaneh Zivieh was then tried in the Revolutionary Court of Saqez on the same charge and sentenced to 50 lashes and a fine of one million and eight hundred thousand Tomans and in appealed court her fine was approved but her lashes was suspended for 3 years.
No information is available on the reason for the arrests and the charges against these two citizens.
