Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa): The Central Command of Kurdistan’s Peshmerga Forces affiliated to the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) refuted a statement issued by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)’s Hamza Headquarter. In the statement, the IRGC denies targeting the party’s bases in mountainous, border regions of Iran and the Kurdistan Regional government (KRG) using artillery and unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAV) yesterday.

In an interview with the PDKI’s official website (Kurdistanmedia), Kawa Bahrami, the Commander of the Central Command of Kurdistan’s Peshmerga Forces has refuted the IRGC’s statement.

“During yesterday’s shelling, the IRGC used some kinds of missiles which were 30 kg in weight and had been made in 2017”, he said in the interview.

“The reason behind the IRGC’s statement is their failure in hitting their targets”, he added.

Kawa Bahrami stated that the IRGC was shelling the KRG and said: “Today, Monday, October 1, 2018, the IRGC once again started shelling the mountainous areas between the KRG and Iranian Kurtdistan using UCAV and Katyusha rocket launcher; they are shelling right now”.

On Sunday, the 30th of September, the IRGC shelled the Kudo mountains, located in border regions of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Eastern Kurdistan (Iranian Kurdistan) using combat drones; they also heavily shelled the Saghar and Barbezin mountains using artillery.
