Opposition to leave and conditional release of a political prisoner

Kurdpa agencey: The prison officials at the Saqez Central Prison denied a Kurdish political detainee release.
According to reports received by Kurdistan Press Agency, Kurdpa, “Iqbal Zarei” a Kurdish political detainee from Saqiz was denied release by the local prison authorities.
A source close to Iqbal Zarei’s family told Kurdpa that, “this Kurdish political detainee requested unconditional release and amnesty from prison.” The prison authorities reported the source denied Mr. Zarei’s request.
Iqbal Zarei, suffering from “kidney disease and hemorrhage was transferred to the Saqiz hospital several days ago” and “was returned to the prison a day later” the source reported.
Iqbal Zarei was detained of charges of membership in one of a Kurdish opposition group and was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
