Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa): Four Kurdish Kolbars, all of them from Mariwan, were killed or wounded due to a landmine explosion in this city.

According to received reports, in a landmine explosion on Tuesday, 25th August, A Kurdish Kolbar, Naser, son of Sedigh, was killed and three other Kolbars whose names are Eghbal, son of Ahmad, Ebrahim, son of Mohammad and Mansoor, son of Majid were severely injured.

Naser’s dead body and the three wounded were transferred to a hospital in Penjwen, a border city in the Kurdistan Regional Government.

All of them had taken up Kolbari (carrying goods on their backs from the Iraqi Kurdistan to the Iranian Kurdistan) in order to make a living.

However, on Friday, August 24, A young Kurdish Kolbar, Ayoob Nikzadeh, son of Atta, from Sardosh village in Mariwan became a victim of landmine and severely injured. He was transferred to Abuali Hospital in Mariwan.

Economic crisis in the Kurdish provinces of Iran especially in the border regions is one of the main causes of taking up this dangerous job by the people. Kurdish Kolbars who have to take up this job to earn a living more often lose their lives due to different reasons such as being shot dead by the Iranian military forces, frostbite or mine land explosion.
