Kurdish professor facing impediment in Kermanshah

According to Kurdpa news agency Dr Muhammad Reza Hamzei in an interview with a local newspaper in Kermanshah has expressed his dissatisfaction about dealing with his academic qualification by University Kermanshah.

He described this way of dealing and attitude by Kermanshah University managements as ignorance and meanness. Muhammad Reza Hamzei (Fariborz) has obtained two PhD, Post-Doctorate and professor rank in cultural sociology from Germany.

This Kurdish academician in an interview with weekly magazine named ‘’Nagde Hal’’ revealed that his academic credential has not been approved. He said that he has got 400 research credits whereas with only 220 credits he should have been promoted. ‘’Unfortunately my right has still been violated’’ he said.

Professor Hamzei has recently been named as a prominent researcher in Iran. This is due to his recent research in Kurdish Shah-Nameh (EPIC POETRY). This research is also about exploring cultural, linguistic and Gorani accent phenomenon in Kermanshah region.

He said that Gorani Myth has root in this region and they are not a translation of Shah-Nameh Ferdoosi. This literature has been in the form of oral which has been written in later date. He also states research references are not more than 130 years old.

Another book which has been translated by Dr Fariborz Hamzei is called ‘’The Origin of rise’’. This book is a report around trade and social aspect of Kermanshah back in 19th century. This book that is about Kermanshah was written by ‘’Yasnet Loie Rabino’’ within 1897 and 1902.

Professor Fariborz (Muhammad Reza) Hamzei was born in Hersin. He grew up in the old part of Kermanshah and while he was in national service in Tehran, he obtained his qualification in English from Iranian –American institute.

He then moved to India to study cinema however, he was not recruited this is because he was foreign national. Therefore was enrolled in sociology where he could receive PhD in sociological movements the sub-category of sociology, his PhD dissertation title was Iranian social movements. Later on he received his second PhD in sociology of religion in Germany.

Afterwards he spent an intensive post Doctorate period in international development which was about relation between economy and sociology. His dissertation was to compare three developing countries such as Iran, Korea and Argentina.
