In a statement, the Association for Human Rights in Kurdistan of Iran-Geneva (KMMK-G) calls on “the International Community” to “condemn and halt Iran’s aggression, its missiles attacks on the headquarters of Kurdish political parties and refugee camps in Iraqi Kurdistan, as well as executions carried out inside the country.”
“This morning on the 8th of September, the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) wounded at least 50 refugees and killed 11 others including high-ranking members of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI).
Iran did so by way of a coordinated long-range missiles attack on the bases of PDKI and adjacent refugee camps in Koya-Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan”, the statement reads.
Reminding the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)’s artillery attack on the PDKI’s bases on border, mountainous regions which took place a day before the missile attacks, the KMMK-Geneva announce: “On the 7th of September, in an indiscriminate artillery shelling, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also caused extensive damage to the environment, the properties of local civilian communities in the border region of Bradost and Spidekan.”
“Meanwhile this morning on the 8th of September we learned that despite repeated calls from UN human rights experts, the Iranian authorities have executed Zanyar and Loghman Moradi, as well as Ramin Hossein Panahi, three Kurdish political prisoners,” continues the statement mentioning the execution of three Kurdish political prisoners.
“Iran’s aggression in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, its indiscriminate shelling of the villagers and Iranian Kurdish refugees in Koya, as well as the execution of political prisoners constitute an obvious violation of the international law and Geneva Conventions,” the statement reads.
In the statement, the KMMK-Geneva condemns Iran’s aggressive actions towards its dissenters and “condemns Iran’s bombing attacks on the headquarters of Kurdish political parties, families and refugees in Iraqi Kurdistan, as well as the executions carried out in the country.
KMMK-G also calls on International Community to condemn, and to halt Iran’s aggression.”
