Issuance of four years imprisonment for a citizen in Saqez
The Saqez Revolutionary Court sentenced a Kurdish citizen named "Amin Maleki", 56, from the village of "Irankhah" to four years in prison.
The court charged this citizen on "membership in a Kurdish opposition party of the Iranian government."
Mr. Maleki's trial was held on Thursday, March 18th, at the Revolutionary Court of Saqez, and he was transferred to the city's central prison after a court ruling.
This citizen has appealed against the verdict of the court of first instance and his case has been referred to the court of appeals for review.
This citizen was previously a member of one of the Kurdish opposition parties of the Iranian government and was arrested last year after returning to Iran and was released on bail after five months of interrogation at the Saqez and Sanandaj intelligence offices.
Amin Maleki was also sentenced in 2013 to three years in prison on charges of "membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties of the Iranian government" and left Iran after serving one year in prison while he was on leave of absence.
