Kurdpa Agency: A young Kurdish man is once again threatened with imprisonment by Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Based on reports received by Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa), the Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) threatened to retry and imprison a young Kurdish man by the name of “Younis Basra” son of “Lazem” from “Dehloran” in Illam.
In an interview with Kurdpa, “Younis Basra” revelated that the IRGC forces arrested him back in January 2018. Part of his sentencing was that he attends Friday prayers as well as ceremonies and events held to honour the victims of the Iran-Iraq War, and clean the graveyard for at least six months.
Basra was detained by the IRGC forces back in December 2018 and was interrogated for at least 25 days. He was accordingly sentenced on February 31 in the Revolutionary Court in Dehloran. Part of his sentencing were as follows:
1- Participation in Friday prayers on a regular basis for six months each week and presenting the confirmation of attendance at the Friday Imam Office of Dehloran
2- Presence and cleaning of graveyard on a weekly basis and providing confirmation to IRGC for six months
3. Creating pages on social media and publishing information of martyrs of the 8-year war between Iraq and Iran on a weekly basis and submitting monthly report to IRGC
In spite of serving his time, the IRGC forces have recently threatened to retry his case in court.
