The government entities treatment of the businessmen and Kolbar in Kurdistan is under the pretext of “Commodity Traffickers,” and these poor workers are, therefore, as criminals.

Kolbar take up this dangerous job because there is little to no employment opportunities in Kurdistan. Many Kolbars have in the past either lost their lives due to shooting by Iran forces, harsh weather conditions, falling or have been seriously wounded by Iran forces.

Kolbar (carriers) are those who take up this dangerous job carrying goods on their back for hours on end to provide for their family, only to end up shot and killed and wounded by security forces.
