Kurdpa: In a string of political prisoner executions, the regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran executes another Kurdish political prisoner in Tabriz Prison.

Kurdpa has learned that Sirwan Nejavi was executed on August 9, following three years of incommunicado.

A source close to Nejavi, who spoke to Kurdpa on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Nejavi’s brother was informed by prison officials of the execution in order to have his body collected.

Nejavi, from the city of Sardasht, was arrested two years ago in his hometown by the Iranian Intelligence Agents, infamously known as Etelaat.

He was transferred to Wurme Prison and held there for two months. He was later re-located to Mahabad Prison, where he was sentenced to death by a court in Mahabad; he was charged with membership in an Iranian Kurdish opposition party.

On February 18, 2014, Sirwan Nejavi, along with five other political prisoners, Saman Naseem, Ali Afshari, Habib Afshari, Ebrahim Isapour and Younes Aghaei, were transferred to an unknown location from Wurme Prison, surrounded by heavy security measures.
