Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa): Two Kurdish Kolbars (porter), both of them from the city of Sardasht, became the victims of two different, tragic incidents.

According to reports received by our agency, on September 11, 2018, a Kurdish Kolbar, Eskandar Gagashi, 47, son of Ahmad, from Kani Zard village, located in Sardasht lost his life due to a landmine explosion in border areas of Mamand and Halshou mountains, located in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

His dead body has been transferred to Ghaladezah, a border city of the KRG.

\"\"In another incident, a Kurdish Kolbar, Hosein Ahmadi, 23, son of Said Ahmad, from the city of Rabat, was severely injured due to falling from a height a few days ago.

Hosein was taken to a hospital in Mahabad because of his critical condition.

Kolbari (carrying goods on their backs from the Iraqi Kurdistan to the Iranian Kurdistan) in order to make a living is a dangerous job. The economic crisis in the Kurdish provinces of Iran, especially in the border regions, is one of the main causes of taking up this job by people.

Kurdish Kolbars who have to take up this job to earn a living more often lose their lives due to different reasons such as being shot dead by the Iranian military forces, frostbite or landmine explosion.
