Four environmental activists extinguishing the Kurdistan forest blaze lost their lives

Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa): Four members of the Chiya Green Organization died in their effort to fight a blaze at Mariwan forest.
According to reliable sources, Today, Tuesday 25th August, four environmental activists, all of them from Mariwan, dead while they were trying to control a blaze at Mariwan forest under control. Sharif bạjwr, Omid Hohnepooshi, Rahmat Hakiminia and Mohammad Pajoohi lost their lives in their effort to tackle a blaze at the forest around Pile and Selsi in Mariwan.

According to local sources, the fire was started when the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shelled the forest around Pile and Selsi.
Sharif Bajoor, 47, son of Bayazid, was one of well-known activists in Kurdistan. In 2016, Sharif, in a protesting effort, pedaled all the road from Mariwan to Tehran under the slogan of ‘non-violence is the victorious way of humanity’.
Sharif had several times been arrested by the Iranian Intelligence Service who had been trying to force him to give up his environmental activities.
