13:30 - 19 May 2012
Kurdpa: The amputation of four fingers of a Belluchi citizen has been confirmed by the Islamic Hight Court Branch 29 and the verdict is set to be carried out in Mashhad city.
Iranian media reported that a citizen charged with multiple robberies sentenced to amputation of four fingers of his right hand in one of the Iranshahr city Court in sistan-Belluchistan region.
On May 16 the sentence of the inmate, whose identity has not been announced yet, was announced publicly.
The torture, abuse and physical punishment in the Islamic republic of Iran’s judicial system continues, despite Iran’s signatory to major international treaties, especially the Universal Declaration of Human Right. The UN General Assembly has previously expressed serious concern on systematic and continuous human rights violations in Iran.
