Kurdpa Agency: Amnesty International calls the execution of lashes of a Kurdish singer from Urmia \"unspeakably cruel punishment\".
Amnesty International has reacted to the execution of a 100-lashes sentence of Peyman Mirzazadeh, a Kurdish singer imprisoned in Urmia Central Prison, saying that the sentence shows the \"brutality\" of the Iranian judicial system.
Amnesty International has stated: It is terrible that the Mirzazadeh, his flogging highlights the inhumanity of a justice system that legalises brutality.
Amnesty International has emphasized that There can be no justification for carrying out flogging, which amounts to torture and is therefore a crime under international law. As a party to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, Iran is legally obliged to abolish the practice, as well as other forms of corporal punishment such as amputations and blinding.
This human rights organization has called for the immediate and unconditional release of this Kurdish singer.
on Sunday, July 28, 100-lash sentences for \"Peyman Mirza Zadeh\", a Kurdish singer, was carried out at the Urmia Central in District 4 of the City Court\'s execution, and he struck in protest against the execution of this verdict.
This ruling was previously issued by District 110 of the Urmia Public Court on charges of \"drinking alcohol and insulting holy things\".
